Summary
Significance: One of the last remaining examples of Potomac River Lighthouse architecture. Built in 1855 and used until 1926, the lighthouse was placed near number 1 boundary marker for the District of Columbia. Many efforts have been made to preserve the lighthouse as a portion of Potomac River Naval history.
