Jury Instructions, Jury Verdict in Fairchild v. Capps & St. Clair, [Law papers].
Summary
Appears to be in Lincoln's hand.
Summary: Fairchild agreed to sell wheat from eighty acres to Capps and St. Clair for $1 per bushel and sued after they refused to accept five hundred bushels. Capps and St. Clair pleaded that they had contracted for "fall" wheat, not for "spring" wheat, which Fairchild produced. The jury found for Capps and St. Clair. Lincoln wrote the jury instructions and probably represented Capps and St. Clair.
