Summary
Significance: This structure is a good example of late 19th century commercial design, of typical style for Oskaloosa at the time it was built. The building was built for Lemual A. Swearingen to house his meat market. L.A. Swearingen was a prominent citizen of Oskaloosa and served as a City Councilman in 1894 and 1895. He owned the structure until his death in 1910.
