Thirty-fifth Street in Austin, Texas, is the former home of influential aesthete, preservationist, and businesswoman Clara Driscoll Sevier. The daughter of South Texas rancher and businessman Robert Driscoll, Clara Driscoll became an outspoken advocate for the arts and the preservation of Texas' historic monuments, leading the crusade to save the Alamo and other San Antonio missions. ... Now adapted as a museum in fulfillment of Clara Driscoll's wishes, Laguna Gloria is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and is a recorded Texas Historic Landmark and Austin Landmark.
