"Litvak (someone from Lithuania/Latvia) and Galician (someone from Galicia, then Austria/Poland)." from "Dos meydel fun vest" ("The girl from the west"). "More in jest than real antagonism, Jews from those two areas of East Europe poked fun at each other for their regional pronunciations of Yiddish, as well as their special food preferences and social patterns.
