Lloyd-Rovegno House, Northeast corner, First Street & Gunnison Avenue, Saint Elmo (historical), Chaffee County, CO
Summary
Significance: Another early 1880s log cabin of St. Elmo's first boom. Shows interior plan typical of that period and materials and joinery preferred in Chalk Creek mining district. Orientation of cabin to south shows the initial expectation that Gunnison Avenue would extend east beyond First Street, making this site a corner location and hence valuable real estate. This never occurred, illustrating how much of St. Elmo's plan remained only on paper, never executed.
