Long-Hutchison Farm, Tenant Barn, County Road 123, Lowndesville, Abbeville County, SC
Summary
Significance: This structure exemplifies a unique form of log barn construction, not seen in the project area or in the surrounding region. Although the building has settled considerably, it continues to be a utilitarian structure of unique integrity. Informant evidence indicates that the barn was built sometime between 1914-17, thus revealing the survival, or perhaps imitation, of traditional log construction techniques in the early 20th century.
