description

Summary

Significance: Building A25 is a contributing element of the Mare Island Historic District. It is important as a contributing element of an impressive collection of vernacular residences, all situated on a bluff overlooking the Ammunition Depot. Building A25 was apparently built as an office building for the Ammunition Depot in about 1910, but was transformed for residential use by 1938. Although it has been altered, the building retains sufficient integrity to make a contribution to this vernacular residential streetscape.
