Summary
Significance: This vernacular secondary structure, built circa 1915, is one of the oldest standing buildings at the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL). Founded in 1888, MBL is the nation's first and most enduring permanent marine biological research and educational institution. This building is one of the last remaining examples of the vernacular wood-frame buildings that characterized MBL in the late nineteenth century and characterized its support buildings constructed in the early twentieth century prior to and during a phase of masonry (brick) construction.
