Summary

Significance: The Marion Creek Bridge #06807 is located on the North Santiam Highway within the boundaries of the Willamette National Forest. The bridge was designed in 1933 by the Bureau of Public Roads and built on the Detroit to Santiam Junction segment of Highway 22 in 1934. The bridge is comprised of a 31-foot steel deck girder span, a 68-foot center steel deck girder span and another 31-foot steel deck girder span. The overall length of the bridge in 130 feet. The deck is 24 feet wide and accommodates two travel lanes and is flanked by decorative arched concrete railings with bush-hammered inset panels at the end posts. The substructure comprises cast-in-place reinforced concrete bents topped with fixed-end bearing plates at the abutments and expansion plates at each pier. The bridge derives its significance due to its association with Depression-era public works road construction projects.
