Significance: The Marshall Space Flight Center, Administrative Complex is significant both for its association with the development of Marshall Space Flight Center and its programs and with the major figures in space exploration, including center director Wernher von Braun whose office was housed in the complex. Buildings 4200, 4201, and 4202 in the complex were built using curtain wall construction in the first half of the 1960s and are thus representative of the increasing use of this type of construction in office and institutional buildings. These contemporary office buildings projected the image of Marshall Space Flight Center, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), as being at the forefront of modernity and technology.
