Print shows Ivan Mazepa, naked, being bound to the back of a wild horse by several men, as punishment for his affair with Countess Theresa, wife of a count who learns of the affair, shown here as the elderly man on the left, and settles upon this form of punishment for Mazepa. Includes 16 lines of verse from the poem "Mazeppa" by Lord Byron.
