Summary
Significance: The house is a 2 story brick and wood structure. The original building oriented east and west, measured 17 1/2 x 25 feet, and was built before 1858. A 12' addition in wood was built at the east end before 1863. This building stood on the first day of the battlefield of Gettysburg (July 1, 1863). The 18 x 22 foot 2 story brick addition was a 6' porch to the east was built after 1869.
