Merit-Tandy Farmstead, RR 1,Box 225, Patriot, Switzerland County, IN

Significance: The Merit-Tandy House so named by earlier historians sits atop a small rise overlooking the Ohio River about 2.5 miles northeast of the town of Patriot, on State Road 156, in Switzerland County, Indiana. ... This house is an interesting example of a variation to the typical five-bay facade Greek Revival houses built in the 1840's and 1850's in the Patriot area.
