Summary
Significance: It was completed in 1848 and was built by Charles Lewis Hinton for his son David. The name Midway came about because of its location between 2 other Hinton Plantations which still remain, Beaverdam and The Oaks. The original buildings at Midway consisted of the Main Building, Kitchen, School House, East Office, Carriage House, and Doll House, all of which are still standing. In addition there were Slave Quarters, an Ice House, Potato House, Smokehouse, Summer House, and Loom House which are no longer standing...
