Milk River Bridge, Spanning Milk River approximately one mile north of Tampico on Tampico North Road, Tampico, Valley County, MT

Significance: Constructed at the height of the Montana Homestead Boom (1909-1917), the Milk River Bridge facilitated the transportation of agricultural goods to the Great Northern Railway station at Tampico in northeastern Montana. The bridge was part of an infrastructure improvement program to accommodate the new residents of Valley County and was one of several pin-connected Parker through truss bridges constructed by the county across the Milk River between 1910 and 1916. The completion of the bridge caused a boom in the development of Tampico as it expanded to meet the needs of the surrounding agricultural community. The bridge is significant as a pin-connected Parker through truss, a type common to northeastern Montana in the early 20th century.
