Photograph shows Mrs. Mary Jaquith (Marie Harin) (1898-1985), wife of Harold Clarence Jaquith (ca. 1889-1943) director of Near East Relief in Istanbul and Athens from 1920 to 1929. Mrs. Jacquith was a Russian refugee who worked for the Near East Relief in Istanbul. She later became a language teacher and was also one of the first simultaneous interpreters at the United Nations.
