Mulberry, Cooper River, West Branch, Moncks Corner, Berkeley County, SC

Significance: Built between 1711-14, Mulberry is the oldest surviving exposed brick manor in the Carolinas and Georgia. Colonel Thomas Broughton, a prominent planter and fur trader who later served as the Governor of the Royal Government, acquired more than 4,400 acres and constructed this house on a high bluff overlooking the Cooper River and rice fields.
