Mumma Farm, Smoketown Road, Sharpsburg, Washington County, MD
Summary
Significance: The Mumma Farm has evolved as changes in farming practices, world events, and the commemoration of such events left their mark on the property. Though fundamental changes have occurred, the landscape retains much of its original agrarian characteristics. Field patterns have been largely restored to those of 1862 and crops are still grown and harvested throughout the property as they have been for over 240 years.
