Print shows Napoleon as a young boy in military training, standing, wearing uniform, holding a rifle against his body with his left arm and holding a bayonet in his right hand. He may have used the bayonet to scratch a plan of fortifications on the side of a building and appears to be pondering the best method for assault. Other soldiers observe from the background.
