NASA Johnson Space Center, Building No. 32, Space Environment Simulation Laboratory, Chambers A & B, 2101 NASA Parkway, Houston, Harris County, TX
Summary
Significance: Chambers A and B of the Space Environment Simulation Laboratory were critical to the success of Project Apollo and to the manned spacecraft program. Chamber A could achieve conditions similar to those at 87 miles above the earth's surface and was used in testing of the Apollo vehicle. When completed, it was the largest man-rated vacuum chamber built.
