New gates erected at White House to prevent careless and tipsy drivers from crashing through. Washington, D.C., Sept. 10. Mistaking the gates to west entrance of the White House grounds for a roadway, many careless and tipsy motorists have crashed through them to their sorrow. Workmen are now replacing the old ones with new strong ones which will be well lighted. White House guards can now rest in peace during the night, 9/10/37
