New secretary of Federal Communications Commission. Washington, D.C., April 29. Thomas J. Slowie, of Iowa, has been named to the much sought-after post of secretary of Federal Communications Commission. Slowie succeeds Herbert L. Pettey, who resigned sometime ago to direct a New York radio station. Mr. Slowie is now secretary to Rep. William S. Jacobsen. of Iowa, 4-29-37
