The mill school of the Anniston Mfg. Co. These are boys at the mill school who have to make the 8 weeks schooling for the year. The school is miserably equipped. Willie Laty, the shortest boy, said he was 10 years old, and been working there about 1 year. He and the other boy said he had a job as a spinner and sweeper, but that he had just been fired (probably after the boss saw the investigator photograph them.) Collie Webb and Archie Croll are also probably under 12, and some girls not in this photograph. Location: Anniston, Alabama

Robert Magee (smallest). 270 Suffolk St., Apparently 12 years old Been working in Mule Room #1, Merrimac Mill, Lowell, 1 year. Michael Keefe (next in size), 32 Marion St., been working in #1 Mule Room, Merrimac Mill, Lowell, for 8 months, about 13 or 14. Cornelius Hurley, 298 Adams St., been at work in #1 Mule Room, Merimac Mill, Lowell, for 6 months, about 13 or 14. Location: South Framingham, Massachusetts

No Bath, No Food is American Rule in Balkans. A group of Balkan refugees in the yard of the American Red Cross Hospital at Monastir. To prevent the spread of Typhus and other diseases the Americans require every one asking aid of them to take a bath, which is provided in the building in the background. The food cards which they receive fromo the Red Cross unless the bath mark upon them has been punched. This particular group has just made its way back from an internment camp in Bulgaria. The man at the right in his bare feet has just had a bath, while the others are waiting to be called. During the bath their clothes are sterilized. The copper pot on the ground is a precious possession. It has been with this group throughout their four years of war travel
