The bridge was attacked three times by fast-striking dive bombers during a recent phase of the maneuvers. The gun is manned by Private Robert Hutcheson (gunner) of Red Bay, Alabama, and Private Virgil Lorence (assistant gunner) of Lucern, Missouri
