Summary: William Firebaugh gave a $100 promissory note to John Stephens, who assigned it to Abednigo Stephens. After Firebaugh failed to pay, Abednigo Stephens retained Lincoln and sued to collect the debt. The court sustained Firebaugh's demurrer against Stephens but allowed Stephens to amend the declaration. The court ruled for Stephens and awarded him $87.90.
