Summary

Significance: This is a relic of the early Mission Days, built 1794-1830 or '40. The house has a field stone foundation, walls of sun dried adobe brick, plastered both sides to ceiling line, wood construction above, shake covered roof, painted interior, white washed exterior including trim and sheathing. In 1854 this house of three rooms and a flat brea roof was sold by Hipolito Cervantes to Dr. George I. Rice and David Franklin Hall. As of 1937, it serves as an extra dining room for an adjoining cafe.
