Park Avenue Bridge, Park Avenue Spanning San Francisco River, Clifton, Greenlee County, AZ
Summary
Significance: Considered significant at the local level of significance as the "only pinned Parker vehicular
truss identified in the State." Although pinned
bridges were never common in Arizona, several
were erected in the late nineteenth and early
twentieth century. Only two remain, and the
Clifton Bridge is the only Parker type. It is considered today as "one of Arizona's most
important early vehicular spans." (NRHP nomination)
