Significance: The old (c. 1760) portion of this house is a plan type representative of the region, the elevation suggestion an early period. Its original site was that occupied by Parson John Williams, "The Redeemed Captive," and the shop of Elijah Williams, which was the chief center of trade for the surrounding area during the period 1745-1770.
