Summary

Significance: The cone drying shed was built in 1934-35 with Forest Service general operating funds, as a part of the Parsons Nursery of the Monongahela National Forest. It was used to air dry red spruce cones and white pine cones collected in the wild so that the seeds could be extracted and planted.
