Partially consolidated gunshot fracture of the upper third of the right femur

Photograph shows deformed leg of Private George Ruoss (or Roos?) of Company G, 7th New York Volunteers, who was wounded at South Side Railroad, near Petersburg, Virginia, on March 31, 1856, by a conoidal musket ball.
