King Philip, full-length portrait, standing, facing slightly right, with right hand on hip, holding rifle, other Indians and mountain in the background.

Inscribed in pencil on verso: Copy after engraving by Paul Revere, published in "Entertaining history of King Philip's war," by Thomas Church, Newport, 1772.
This print is a variant copy of the Revere engraving published in: "The entertaining history of King Philip's war, which began in the month of June, 1675 ... with some account of the divine providence towards Col. Benjamin Church" / by Thomas Church, esq. his son. 2nd edition. Newport, Rhode Island : Reprinted and sold by Solomon Southwick, 1772.
The most noticeable difference between the Revere engraving of 1772 and this print is in the design of the clouds and the extended foreground at the feet of Philip.
