Summary

Significance: The Post Office Arcade was the first building in Fort Myers specifically built to serve the Fort Myers Post Office. The Arcade was the first building constructed on the new Broadway Street block between First and Main Streets. The Arcade provided space for twenty stores and offices, subsequently occupied by numerous businesses vital to the development of Fort Myers and of special concern to its citizens, including the Fort Myers News Press, Tamiami Trail Tours, The Home Supply Store, the radio station, Lee County Chamber of Commerce, and The Snack House.
