Production. B-24 bombers and C-87 transports. The cargo door of a consolidated transport plane is fitted into a tail fuselage opening at a Western aircraft plant. This new transport, an adaptation of the B-24 bomber, is known as C-87, and carries one of of the greatest human or cargo loads of any plane now in mass production. It is built in a plant equipped with the best and most modern air conditioning and fluorescent lighting systems
