Summary
Report of the grand committee of the Continental Congress, read May 13, 1785; with the plan of Robert Morris, dated January 15, 1782, and Notes on the establishment of a money unit, and of a coinage for the United States, by Thomas Jefferson. In consequence of this report, the Continental Congress on July 6, 1785, adopted the dollar as the unit of coinage, and the decimal ratio. Cf. Evans.
