Summary

Ramps (Allium tricoccum) are wild leeks found throughout the Appalachian mountain range. Their appearance early in the spring of the year is hailed throughout the southern Appalachian mountains with feasting at local community fundraisers known as ramp festivals or ramp suppers. The Pine Knob Ramp Supper, sponsored by the Delbert Baptist Church, has been an annual event since the early 1950s.
