Significance: Erected in the fall of 1771 by John Rich, plasterer, the house is a fine example of one of a pair of small, Philadelphia row houses of the late 18th century. It is located on the site originally occupied by the city's Alms House. Richard Truman, cabinet maker, purchased the house in 1774.
