"Ring round a rosy" a la Belgique. A great clattering goes with the Belgain version of "Ring round a rosy" when the little wooden shoes mark the rhythm of the song. These war orphans in Ypres, members of the American Red Cross School colony attend school in the near by barracks building and have their play ground amid the ruins and debris that have been only partially cleared away. Entirely alone in the world they feel themselves fortunate in having the sympathy and interest of the American children, for it is the Junior Red Cross that has brought them supplies of clothing, nourishing foods and materials out of which the sisters make their black sateen aprons and warm underclothing
