Rosemary Inn, Inglenook, Olympic National Forest, Barnes Point, Lake Crescent, Port Angeles, Clallam County, WA
Summary
Significance: The Fire Shelter is located near the site of the historic entrance to Rosemary - the lakeshore. Guests originally arrived at the resort by ferry or launch. After the completion of the south shore highway in 1922, access to Rosemary changed and the lakeshore frontage became used exclusively for recreational purposes. The shelter was constructed as an integral part of the complex, contributes to the overall character of the rustic resort, and possesses integrity of design, materials, workmanship, location, setting, feeling and association.
