Summary
Photograph shows a group of people standing on the boat landing at the Old Fort Plantation, or alternatively, Smith Plantation, facing the Port Royal Sound in Beaufort County, South Carolina. Union forces occupied the fort after the Battle of Port Royal in 1861.
