Rural scrap salvage. Farmyards hold vast stores of scrap metal and rubber. Harvey Fischer, Route 1, Dexter, Michigan, did something about his large accumulation, and became the first farmer in Michigan to sell his discarded tires and metal to the government. His cooperation with the rural scrap collection project sponsored by the production board started the ball rolling
