Significance: Designed in 1937, the Samuel G. Wiener House is one of the most significant early Orthodox Modern houses located in the southern United States. The centerpiece of the Pine Park Subdivision, designed and developed in 1937 by Wiener and his brother William. The subdivision was designed as a romantic park landscape, with automobiles relegated to the periphery, which explains the lack of sidewalks. The Samuel Wiener family occupied the house until the death of Marion (Mrs. Sam Wiener) in 1987...
