Senate committee hears British expert. Washington, D.C., April 6. Appearing before the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee this morning, Dr. Harold J. Laskil noted British political scientist, told how King George V of England threatened to "pack" The House of Lords on 1911 to permit extension of the powers of the House of Commons. Laski related than in 1911 when The House of Lords threatened to defeat a measure extending the power of The Commons, King George issued an order that, should the Lord "get out of hand" he would create sufficient Lords to override the opposition, 4/6/38
