St. John's Church, Waldrop, State Route 22, .5 mile West of U.S. Route 15, Waldrop, Louisa County, Virginia

Significance: St. John's Church stands as a well-preserved, little-altered example of the Piedmont Classical Revival Church. This building reflects the continuation of Jeffersonian architectural ideas well into the fourth decade of the Nineteenth Century. / St. John's Church, Waldrop (Protestant Episcopal), in its rural setting, is evocative of the spirit of the antebellum Piedmont. Dating from 1845, this simple yet gracious Classical Revival structure survives in well-preserved condition, with original trim, pews, communion rail, and hardware in tact. The building has experienced only a few very minor alterations through the years. Unfortunately, St. John's Church is no longer in regular use.
