Summary
Significance: The monument commemorates the Mexican, Civil, and Spanish-American Wars with the ebullient national spirit of the late nineteenth century. Its architectural style is Classical, populated by sculptured figures which tell the story of war and peace. The monument is situated at the focal point of the original Alexander Ralston city plan for Indianapolis.
