description

Summary

part of Yosemite National Park Roads and Bridges Recording Project, 1991; see HAER No. CA-117 for overview
Significance: The National Park Service replaced bridges in Yosemite Valley with a series of rustic structures designed to harmonize with the landscape. Sugar Pine Bridge is a good example; the bridge's reinforced concrete arch is disguised by a veneer of native granite, making the bridge appear to be rough stone construction.
Unprocessed Field note material exists for this structure: N87
Survey number: HAER CA-99
Building/structure dates: 1927- 1928 Initial Construction
