Summary
Significance: It was an integral part of the Tacoma Project, an early hydroelectric development in southwest Colorado. The Project was constructed in the early 1900s to serve the needs of the mining operations in the Silverton district 50 miles to the north. It was designed, and financing raised by H.T. Henderson, who hoped to reduce the cost of mining operation by making power available more cheaply.
