Satirical drawing showing a dandy being admired by a group of cadets. Changes in composition include figures moved or crossed out. Drawn while Whistler was a cadet at West Point. Possibly from the Alexander Webb album.

On back: red collector's stamp of J & ER Pennell (Lugt Suppl. 874a).
Cream wove paper with slight cockle finish; no watermark.
