The common kitchen in the settlement of portable houses put up for refugees by the Ministere de L'Interieur at Drieux. The houses which shelter one family to each in the reconstruction of the devastated regions, but as that work is partially postponed, they are being used to meet the refugee problem. The picture shows the sous prefet (in straw hat) tasting the soup made by one of the refugee women. The A.R.C. has provided many articles of furniture, clothing and utensils for the settlement
