The first of [...] M.S. Eisenhower, Director of Information, U.S. Department of Agriculture, finds the first publication ever issued by the Department to be interesting reading matter. This booklet, recently discovered in one of the Department libraries, was issued in 1861. It was a report on plants in the U.S. Propagation Gardens and was written by William Saunders. In the last fiscal year the Department sent out over 11,000,000 farmers' bulletins, 11/24/30
